Internship in the USA, November 2014.

“Procurement contract system improvement: international experience”


On November 10-23, 2014 the Public Procurement Institute organized another internship session abroad, this time focused on the international approach to procurement contract system improvements. The internship took place in Washington, DC and New York City.

The programme was organized by the Public Procurement Institute, and supported by the Russian Trade Mission in the USA and the World Bank.

The programme participants learned about the purchasing process within the projects financed by the World Bank, the United Nations procurement department work practices, the US public procurement system, and about certification programmes available to supply chain professionals in the country.

In addition, several meeting were devoted to the Federal Law No. 44-FZ application practices, where various aspects of purchases conducted for foreign-based clients were discussed.
Apart from the meetings, the internship participants also worked in the Library of Congress.

A cultural programme was organized for the team: city tours of Washington DC and New York City, a visit to the Statue of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial, and to other major sights.
